Brief Bio:
Armin Beck received his B.Sc. in Mathematics in September 2022 from the University of Tübingen. His Bachelor thesis focused on Accelerated Proximal Quasi-Newton Methods. He continued his studies at the same university, pursuing an M.Sc. in Mathematics with a specialization in numerics and optimization. During his Master's program, Armin worked under the supervision of Prof. Prohl and completed his thesis in October 2024 on the topic of Strong Consistency of Iterative Least Square Estimates. Since November 2024, Armin has been a PhD student at the Max-Planck-Institute for Informatics and a member of the Mathematical Optimization for Data Science Group at Saarland University, led by Prof. Peter Ochs. His research interests include optimization, stochastics, statistical learning, and machine learning.
