Cheik Traoré received his Ph.D. in Mathematics and Applications from the University of Genoa in 2024 supervised by Silvia Villa, in collaboration with Saverio Salzo. He worked primarily on large-scale convex optimization, especially proximal and stochastic methods. He is interested in the mathematics of data science. Specifically, his interests lie at the intersection of continuous optimization and data science (machine learning, deep learning, statistical learning, sampling, signal processing, inverse problems, etc). He is now a postdoctoral researcher in the Mathematical Optimization for Data Science group led by Peter Ochs.
